Pancho
Puelma was born in Viña del Mar, Chile, 1959.
He began studying music in 1967, at the Bellas Artes
Conservatory of Viña del Mar. During 8 years
he studied piano, theory, solfeggio, harmony, contrapunting,
composition and orchestration. Since 1975 has received
several upgrading courses at the Music Institute of
the Catholic University of Chile and
at the Modern Music School of Santiago.
Meanwhile, at the same time, he was a student at the
German School of Valparaiso, Pancho developed his career
as an author and song composer. Many school song festivals
heard his first songs. During 1978, Pancho studies to
become an Architect at the Catholic University of Valparaiso,
but, after two years he decides to be a fulltime musician.
From 1976 till 1979 he becomes member of the band "Leña
Húmeda"
(symphonyc latin rock). Other credits of the band were:
Tomás Keller, Raúll Cruzat, Giancarlo Bregante,
Mauro Bregante, Juan Martinez, Miguel Gandulfo, Patricio
Vasquez. Others that made a contribution to the band
were: Alfredo Appel, Jaime Andrade, Sebastián
Palacios y Luis Martinez. During 1980 Pancho creates
a new band (latin rock pop): "Pancho Puelma y los
Socios"
who published 3 musical productions; in the chilean market.
All songs belong to Pancho Puelma. Other credits of the

During 1986, Pancho Puelma y los Socios reached the first
place of the chilean musical ranking, during 18 weeks,
with their song Esperando Nacer, (Waiting Birth).
In 1988, Pancho is invited to the Viña del Mar
International Song Festival showing an outstanding
performance. During full 9 years, Pancho Puelma and
his band performed on TV shows and in almost every
stage of the country. By 1990, Pancho retires from
the media but continues his work as author and composer
of songs and commercial jingles for TV and radio. In
1998 he comes forward once again with a CD: 'Volver
A Nacer'.
Another production was delivered on August 2003: 'Aire
Nuevo'.
Sice 1998, Pancho has worked as a crooner, pianist and
singer, in most of all 5 stars hotels and casinos through
Chile: Hyatt, Sheraton, Radisson, Portillo, Valle Nevado
and others in Arica, Antofagasta and Punta Arenas.
In march 2008, Pancho travels to México city,
to record a CD with his last creations.
